Carolina: Pole dancing allows me to dance and perform to my favourite music - rock and metal - making my teenage dream come true. Having taken up pole in Australia when recovering from an abusive relationship, pole dancing makes me feel powerful, badass and more confident - and it's helped me find community and work even in academia, as I now research on social media censorship of nudity.
