How to Film Term Routine

This

Please follow the below guidelines. If you are unsure, message Aliky with any questions before you film. We appreciate that creating a routine takes considerable effort. Following these guidelines help us deliver professional, consistent videos and achievable, engaging routines. If the video quality or routine is not quite right we may ask you to re-film.

Choreography Guidelies:

1. Syllabus tricks only

2. Choreo: 30 seconds, keep it short and simple, it should be much easier than a dedicated choreo class.

3. No floorwork on knees (diamond rolls, flips etc.)

Use both sides (if the choreo is strong on one arm, use the other side for tricks, if there are two combos use alternating sides)

4. Routine time limits below are inclusive of choreo and tricks. Do not go over the time limit.

-Beginners: 1 minute, very slow and easy, routine should be achievable to teach in one lesson to trials students

-Intermediate: 1 minute

-High Intermediate: 1 minute

-Pre Advanced: 1.5 minutes

-Advanced: 2 minutes

-Elite: 2 minutes

5. Keep routines easy for both students and other instructors to learn, it reduces class prep time, increases student attendance and assists with covers. Encourage students to freestyle their favourite choreo and tricks at the end of the routine.

Filming Guidelines:

What you need:

1. At least 2 phones for recording. You can use the studio phone for the back view.

2. Tripod. There should be 1 in each studio.

3. 1 studio light (the big lights). Colourful lights. These should all be in the studios.

Steps:

1. Clean camera lens

2. Tidy studio

3. Use tripod or a friend for filming the front view (no yoga blocks on the floor). For the back view, you can use yoga blocks.

4. Film vertical/portrait.

Film front view and back view (use 2 cameras at once so the timing is the same)

1x view for front camera (not 0.5x)

Film one complete take (no stitching videos together)

5. Set up good, bright lighting (use studio filming lights if available)

Uploading:

2. Put the video in the folder titled ‘TERM ROUTINES’

3. Make the title: Term & Year - Level - E.g Term 4 2024 - Intermediate

Add in the description the song title and artist
